5. It's really simple
Blanche the peppers, cook rice, add prego spaghetti sauce, combine it with cooked and drained ground beef, stuff the peppers and into a 350 oven for twenty minutes, voila supper.

10. So you precook the ground beef before stuffing. Thanks.

3. That sounds great to me!
I passed a farm stand today and thought about stopping for fresh corn. To me, that is one of the best things about summer.:-)

What are the peppers stuffed with? I like green peppers; maybe I'll try this, too.:-)

It's true love and home grown tomatoes.

8. Homegrown tomatoes are the only ones worth eating
They just taste so much better. I rarely buy tomatoes from the grocery store. After tasting farm fresh tomatoes, these are completely tasteless to me. Speaking of which, my friend grows tomatoes in her garden and she can't use all she grows. I'd better give her a call soon and see how she's been doing, LOL!:D

9. BLTs tonight!
The tomatoes are coming on big time and we have enough ripe ones, Hallelujah! Grilled summer squash, too. Melons of several varieties in a week or so.

Does someone have a recipe for fried green tomatoes? My last effort was not so great, but I love them and have plenty of green ones right now. Suggestions welcome.

11. Here are some recipes for fried green tomatoes
These are from The Food Network. The first one I watched Tyler Florence prepare on "Food 911" and it looked pretty good. The first two are supposed to be the easiest. The main differences seem to be the types of coatings used, like flour or corn meal or cracker meal, and whether or not they use milk. You can choose your preference.

The only time I had fried green tomatoes, the recipe was from the book, "Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe" by Fannie Flagg. They were quite good, but I couldn't find the recipe on line and I don't have the book with me. It was a terrific book, IMO, and I recommend it highly. The movie was a major disappointment after having read the book first. However, the great thing about The Food Network is that they suggest other dishes to serve with them and there are often photos. Enjoy!:D

6. Fresh veggies, yum
We're having baked eggplant, smothered in homemade tomato sauce with "warm" jalapenos sprinkled on to taste; all from the garden. Also going to have fresh salmon & cajun scallops with lots of white wine. Dessert? Who cares? Can't wait.
