Anyone play Euchre?
I moved to Indiana in 1993 and I discovered this game shortly afterwards.

3. I am RELIGIOUS about euchre.
My friends and I have many rites we perform every time we receive the Holy Euchreist. Like the wearing of the "barn doors." And "milking the cow" (these activities are commenced when one team reaches the score of ten points, AKA being "in the barn").

14. Wouldn't you like to know?
It cannot be described. It must be experienced.

5. It has been so long since I played Euchre I
don't think I would remember how many cards to deal. I used to love it. My friends and I would sit up all night playing it.

11. That's becase it's a German/English game
So only briars and krauts have a tradition of teaching slash playing the game. I've been out to Califorian and there's not a large German/English immigrant population in California.

16. Learned Euchre
when I was in college in the Pittsburgh area. Forgot euchre when I moved back to the Philadelphia area, because no one here had ever even heard of it. It was the only card game I ever really liked.

17. played at every family gathering from 7 to 14....
Then decided that being surrounded by my uncles and their smelly cigars was NOT my idea of fun. (The smoked Corona y Vega and Swisher Sweets.... I do appreciate a GOOD cigar.)

I can't remember the game any more.....

Euchre tourneys in my wild youth.

Still play once in a while. Great card game, the only card game I play well.

Edit to add: Younger brother taught me, he learned to play at BGSU in Bowling Green, Ohio.

19. Used to play it a ton.
ThirdWheelLegend used to host a weekly Euchre night, mostly for our fellow college radio staffers, but it fell apart when we all got girlfriends and lives and shit. Fun game, I'd certainly take it up again if someone I knew were to start up a regular game.

20. I hate it.
Never even bothered to learn how to play.

"Fast" card games suck -- at least poker & blackjack have a little intrigue.
