HBO pretty much still sucks..... |
|
Haven't had it in years. Just switched to expanded cable. Now we have many more channels, but there's still nothing to watch on TV.
HBO: Arachnophobia, Police Academy 2....
WTF?!
Think I'll go set up the 'ol voter register table in front of Safeway instead.

1. Their specials and running shows are what make HBO |
|
Where else can you catch Lewis Black in "Black on Broadway" or "Deadwood"?

6. Cool, I'll check them out.... |
|
I know there was some show I heard about that I wanted HBO for, but couldn't remember what it was today. Maybe a new Bill Maher show? I think that was it.

9. The Bill Maher show should be starting up again soon |
|
I can't recall its name at the moment.
Ali-G is good from what others have said as well.

2. Do you get HBO on Demand or any additional HBO channels? |
|
With the on Demand feature, you don't have to be a slave to their daily schedule. (just their monthly offerings)

4. Don't watch them for their movies |
|
They're getting their Emmy nominations for their series. Their movies are mostly substandard, except sometimes on HBO Signature.
The best movies these days are on Sundance, Independent Film Channel, Turner Classic Movies, Fox Movie Channel, and the Starz Channels.

10. Police Academy 2?!?!? |
|
Now that's pathetic, and the main reason I don't have any of the major movie channels. Way too much crap filling the schedule in between blockbusters and original series.
I'd much rather wait and rent The Sopranos on DVD than pay good money for a bunch of filler.

11. I can't remember the last time I watched a movie |

on HBO, but the HBO series are the best. The writing on Six Feet Under, Carnivale and Deadwood - a treasure. I'm kinda of down on Sopranos, IMHO they jumped the shark last season with what they did with Tony B.
