At a new place in Chelsea, along 15th and 9th Avenue. Can't remember the name, but it's only been open for 8 (though Saturday, today, makes 9) days.
Beautiful space, too - trendy, but not a sickly trendy. Some gorgeous marble in it, and a nice, open space with modern metallic chairs that are also quite comfy.
So, since it's a new place, I have to offer the standard NYC prediction: it'll become "de riguer" in a month, become utterly unbearable because of the Chelsea "trendies" who go there, then be gone in less than 12 months.
meanwhile, the Passerby bar down the street will contine to be hoppin' mad (though also continue to be filled mostly with people who want alcohol to get drunk, and not to enjoy in any artistic or aesthetic way, and couldn't care a fat damn that the bartenders are *phenomenally* well-trained to make amazingly accurate and delicious perfectly-proportioned classical cocktails).
And no, I'm not telling you where the Passerby is. It only seats a few people, and no sense making it more crowded. :-)

Those trendy restaurants in the meat-packing district (which 15th & 9th really is, even if some persist in calling it part of Chelsea) are soooooooooooooooooo special!

come on, everyone will get their chance to touch Rabrrrrrr but only if you get in line. I mean it! Don't make me flick the lights, people!
you there - with the gum - I hope you brought enough for everyone?!
I should have said "meat packing district", as you correctly state, but was being lazy about it and called it Chelsea. :-)
Though I love the visceral, earthy primitive sound of "meat packing district", especially since I love steak.
