My neighbor is a night mower

I really can't stand this guy and if i had a small child that went to bed early i'd be really pissed. He's outside with his huge 61/2 hp mower at almost 9:00pm mowing his postage stamp sized lawn, when he's done he'll get out the trimmer. While he's doing all this he has headphones on and sings his christian rock songs. Since tomorrow is his church going day, i'm going outside in the morning and firing up jay-z's black album at 9:00 am because he doen't leave for chruch until around 10:30. I am sick to death of him and his I support out brave troops and Presient Bush bumper sticker and his goddamn inconsiderate ways.

1. Sorry you don't like your neighbor, but

mowing in the evening is one of the best times because it gives the grass time to recover before the heat of the day hits it. Mowing in the morning allows more moisture to evaporate from the cut grass. Maybe the two of you could try talking and coming to a mutually agreeable time. Never try to out asshole an asshole.

2. I've tried and so habe my neighbors

especially the ones with small children. I mow in the morning and if my grass isnt as green as it could be thats ok because it's not worth making people angry just so my lawn looks better.

4. We used to live next to a guy that would start mowing at 6:00 am

I had a 4, 3 and 6 month old at the time - lived there for a year.

You pay taxes. you have a REASONABLE expectation that when the sun goes down, things quiet down in your neighbourhood.

You wouldn't put up with a drunken party across the street at midnight, would you? why should you have to put up with some asshole cutting grass and making noise while you're trying to digest your dinner.

I say again, I'd call the cops.

12. our mutual neighbor across the street is a cop

he has talked to him but to no avail, he turned it over to the local PD. After 9:00pm it becomes a "nuisance", he always makes it's tight under the wire.

Have you talked to a Realtor? Either that, a civil suit, or covert acts of violence seem to be your only options.

I knew a guy like that once. He was a total asshole, but a Big Man in his church, so if you complained about his kids, his dog, his friends blocking your driveway when they came over for bible study, etc. He'd complain that he was being "persecuted"..."I'll PRAY for you!"

check with the Police Dept if there's any curfew on lawn mowing, noisy power equipment, or just sound levels in general.

Or by neighborhood rules (management, association).

Funniest guy I knew. One time we were 18 and leaving on a fishing trip the next day at five, there was a note onhis fride from his mom.

So, at 1:00 am jamie mowed the lawn.

14. Burn his fuckin' house down

well, maybe not, but I'm getting g--amned sick and tired of the idiots who have no respect for other people, whether it's night mowing, letting their kids run aruond the supermarket at g---amn midnight, not holding doors, not offering seats to women and the elderly and those who need them, not saying "thank you", driving while gabbing on their g---man cell phones forcing other drivers to adjust to THEIR way of driving out of holy fear, people playing their g---amn stereos so f-ing loud you can hear them a block or more away, etc. etc. etc.

maybe if we, of the decent human brigade, starting burning their goddamn houses down, and setting their goddamn boom cars on fire, and otherwise kicking their asses, the assholes might finally learn that it does no good to piss of twenty or fifty or two hundred other people.

It's time to reclaim our space as a civil, ordered, and courteous space.

If I were a judge, and you burned his house down, I'd let you off with a warning. And that warning would be, "Don't wait so damn long next time to fight back".

I wait until the BEHAVIOR is bad.

Though I suppose an argument could be made that, while their action in VOTING for the assholes isn't a necessarily immediate space-invading bit of assholery, it's still assholery.

So maybe we *should* do something about them, to let them know that uncivil and discourteous behavior, which includes voting for rightwing Christian mellenialist fundie fucks, is gonna end up with their fucking house painting the night sky red.

17. We used to have a neighbor

that was sort of like that. He was a real jerk. He would work on his car at like 2 in the morning. He'd be running the engine and revving it....Very annoying.

Another few times, I recall him and his wife yelling at each other in frnt of their house.

It was especially annoying because the previous neighbors were very nice people.

Needless to say, I was pretty happy when they moved out. The new neighbors are the complete opposite. Very quiet.

Cooler temps at night seem to be plenty of reason to me. Pissing someone off beats the hell out of a heat stroke.
