AARGH, I had a nightmare last night.....
...that it was Election Day and * was winning! I woke up and it took me a few moments to realize it was only a bad dream.

It was 1 am and the music I'd put on before going to bed -- some electronic dub -- was still playing. Maybe the music contributed to my bad dreams? I always put on music when I go to sleep, and I've had times where I'll be hearing the music in my dreams and wondering where that sound is coming from and why it won't go away.

1. You should experiment with lucid dreaming.
Lucid dreams are a lot of fun.

2. Not if they're nightmares
I've suffered from mental illness in the past and I've had lucid dreams that I'm mentally ill again. Or worse I had a lucid dream one time that all the paranoid fantasies that I had while mentally ill were true. It shook me so badly that it took several minutes after I woke up to realize that it was just a dream.

4. I had the same nightmare in 2000!
Dan Rather called Florida for Gore, then recanted. If you listen to music at bedtime, I'd try a more soothing variety. I have had nightmares when I fell asleep in front of the TV. I believe that the sounds that we hear while we're sleeping can inspire dreams.
