Hey! They're making a movie of "The Boondocks"
Well, not really, but you should check out this hilarious movie site from 3 of the writers of Mystery Science Theater 3000:

...And the Garfield phenomenon has inspired a gold rush of live action movies based on newspaper comic strips. The Film Crew has gotten wind of some of these new projects from our faithful sources all over filmdom (including Kevin's cousin, a top intern on many important Dolph Lundgren films):

THE BOONDOCKS: This angry political strip about streetwise black kids was an odd acquisition by Disney Studios, and only the Film Crew knows the real scoop: a methamphetamine-addicted development exec at the Mouse House optioned the comic strip in a drugged stupor, convinced he was buying a story about cute talking pond animals.

The Scuttlebutt: Disney is trying hard to save face by making this more of a "Disney" movie. The film will take the focus off two black brothers adjusting to life in white suburbia, and place it on two white brothers adjusting to life in white suburbia. The original screenplay by Spike Lee - centered around militant young Huey's attempt to get a statue of Malcolm X erected in the town square - has been rewritten to focus on a the now-blonde Huey's attempt to keep a pet duck secret from Grandpa, played by Tom Arnold. (The duck, that is.)

1. LOL. I still can't believe that Mike Nelson is a hardcore Republican

As usual, it doesn't have any discernible impact on his comedy. Funny stuff. :D

2. I don't know where you've heard that.
He and the rest of the cast of MST3K have always been raging liberals. You might be thinking of someone else (Bill Nelson?)

3. Hate to have to do this to you
It debased my innocent trust, let me tell you. Like you, I thought he was full-on liberal like the rest of the cast.

Q54 (Forrest): Believe it or not, there have actually been discussions on our discussion board about whether or not you are independent, republican or democrat. Paul Chaplin and Kevin Murphy have often shared their political views with the world. So what are yours? Are you an elephant, a donkey, or neither?

A54: Well, let me say this, I read the National Review cover to cover. Check in at Townhall.com every day. Check the Washington Times daily. Listen to Dennis Prager and Michael Medved on a regular basis. Read Mark Steyn with regularity. Read the Weekly Standard. So, yes, I do vote Republican. As the pundit Hugh Hewitt has observed, there are indeed two Americas: Serious America and Silly America. The Democrats seem bent on turning this into Silly America, so I stick with those who wish this to remain Serious America.

Of course, in addition, as angry as it makes me, I check in with the monolithic press: the NY Times, the L.A. Times, the Boston Globe. One thing I can’t do, that makes me just insanely angry, is read my local paper, the Minneapolis Star Tribune, known to many as the Star and Sickle, or the Red Star Tribune.

4. McGrudder has been trying to get it made as a tv series for years
In fact, it almost was greenlit as a series this Fall. Sad thing is that it would be on Faux, so it probably would have never lasted past a single show.
