Just made $10 mowing my neighbor's lawn............ |
|
She couldn't because her allergies were really bothering her today. She wanted to give me $20 and I didn't want to accept it because her yard is tiny, and it took me all of 15 min to do it. So, we compromised on $10. And since I haven't received my first paycheck yet, this comes in handy! WOOHOO! I get to eat!

I wish I would have had you around last week, when I had to mow mine in 90 degree heat with high humidity. I've never sweat so much in my life.

Just so long as you didn't do it at night... :p
Easy money it sounds like!
Friend of mine had a neighbor with a VERY small yard. One day, I was at his house, and lit a cigarette as her yard servicemen were unloading their mower from the truck. Before I finished the cigarette, they had the mower off the truck, mowed the lawn, and loaded it back on the truck (it was a large riding one, btw). I found it hilarious and had to lol. The mower was on all of about 2 minutes. Then about 5 minutes for the trim work (and with two guys, that went very fast). I don't know how long they were there in total, but I bet it was less than it would have taken me to smoke two cigarettes.
And the woman probably paid $50 a week for that.

I'm a retired engineer (early age 55) and part time college professor and money is not a big issue in my life. I have all I need and then some.
A couple of weeks ago I went over and mowed the grass of my much older (70s) neighbor because her yard service did not come. In Florida in the summer time you have to mow each week. She was grateful and insisted that she pay me. She gave me $10 and there was no way I could talk her out of it. When I mentioned that I would rather have a few of her cookies the next time she baked she told me she wanted to pay me cold hard cash for my "labor".

In college, I would take a final, sell the books for that class, then live off that money until the next final, then do the same thing over and over.
I ate well during finals.
