Need my dreams read....anyone here good @ that? |
|
I have dreams CONSTANTLY that I can't speak. Like I lose my voice. I can speak in the dream and then all of a sudden I can't speak. My lips are moving and nothing is coming out. The people in the dream are aware that I can't speak. I have started writing on paper in my dreams to compensate.
In other dreams I have stuff in my mouth that prevents me from talking. I reach in with my fingers and try to get the stuff out but it continues to grow.
I'd love for someone to interpret this for me. It is very distressing.

1. I'm not good at it, but I'll give you my idea |
|
In your conscious life you feel like you are not being heard or understood by people. Or maybe it's something like no matter how much you talk, you feel as if the mesasage is not getting through. Like you are banging your head up against a wall.

Also, try keeping something to write on (a journal or writing tablet) and a pen by your bedside so that you can write down the description of your dream as soon as you wake up. The longer you wait, the less you remember. I think it would be interesting if there is a particular topic that you're talking about when you "can't get your message across". Think about that before you go to sleep and you may remember that detail the next time you have a similar dream.
Look up the topic "lucid dreaming" on the web. Proponents say that there are ways that we can influence our dreams and in effect, use our dreams to solve problems, etc. The first key is to remember your dreams in detail and record those memories.

6. Caveat! When Recording Dreams, Refrain From Interpretation |
|
rather, write/use empirical observation as much as possible.

2. But, but you're the great Xultar! Can't you read *OUR* dreams? |
|
Sounds like a communication issue. You aren't getting through. My problem in dreams is trying to run and not being able to move much at all.

3. I agree with Droopy. You don't think you're being heard. |

18. I've had flying dreams, too. Since I can remember... |
|
Many time, they're like I'm "swimming" in the air - kicking my feet and skimming with my arms as though I'm in water, but I'm actually over forests and buildings and such.

is that you may need to 'watch your tongue,' and think before saying something you may regret.

9. One question; Have you ever been told that you snore? |
|
The reason I ask is that you could be suffering from sleep apnea and the sign is manifesting in your dream. I am not meaning to discount the psychological interpretations but due to its reoccurring nature,(which is rare for dreams) may indicate something organic.

10. I second this one. I have sleep apnea and often have to breathe thru |
|
mouth. Throat dries and sorta 'sticks together' making it really difficult to breathe at all. Frequently have dreams there is something in my throat which I have to pull and pull out of my airway. Usually wakes me up enough (often in panic) to get up and get some water and saline nose spray.
Is it very dry where you are? Air conditioner in summer, heat in winter can really dry the air and irritate many of us. Saline spray can help and there is an artificial saliva stuff which helps keep the throat moist. A humidifier may also be of help.
Are you taking any meds which can cause dry throat or mouth? If so, talk to the pharmacist about how to help the condition so you keep your airway open all night. Poor sleep can cause all sorts of nasty health problems and they can sneak up on you fast!
Sometimes a dream is a symbol, sometimes our body is trying to get some attention to a problem. Look at both possibilities.
Let us know how you are doing.
Also, for real hard looks at dreams, consider posting in Meeting Room.;)

12. Ya know I think I do snore because of my sinus problems. |
|
My not being able to talk does have alot to do with not being able to breath sort of. It is hard to explain but it is kinda like being out of breath.
Time to call the Dr.

14. Okay dream readers - try this |

I have constant waking dreams of spiders being in my bed....big ones, in grave numbers. I always jump out of bed and do not fully awake until I have the light on.

16. I don't know what the symbolism is behind the spider |
|
But it's sounds like you just have a general fear of spiders.
If you were a hard core alcoholic and were drying out I'd say it would be that, but I know you aren't drying out. ;)

17. I had a dream that a scorpian was walking on me (lived in Tucson) |
|
Woke up cuz the cats were after something in the bed. Moved my arm, felt a sudden, very sharp pain near my wrist, jerked my arm and heard the unmistakeable clicking sound of a scorpain body hitting the wall. Two weeks before I could flex my fingers much. Took 6 weeks before I could fully extend the arm again and years for the mark to go away.
Just glad it was me and not my 19 year ol, three pound, cat that got the hit that night; it probably would've killed her. But the old girl was working to defend me as I slept.
Sometimes reality sneaks into my dreams and sometimes my dreams sneak into reality.
