and if you can manage it, put the butter on a corn tortilla. It'll kill the heat immediately. Just don't get the tortilla stuck in your nose.

6. No butter or tortillas here |
|
Thank goodness the pain is starting to stop. I'm afraid I won't be able to smell anything for days now though.

12. And you can wash your hand several time and not get all the hot stuff off. |
|
Did I ever tell you all about the gent I dated who knew I loved hot stuff and wanted to surprise me? He had to turn the car around one evening when we were heading out for a secluded picnic supper. Drove very fast, he did. Spent a loooong time in my shower and kept yelling out "Do you have any more aloe?" Wonder what ever happened to him...

15. I Can Vouch For That!!! |
|
One night I was helping Mrs. CO Liberal cook dinner by chopping up some jalapenos. Later on, I rubbed both my eyes, forgetting about what I had chopped up earlier. Instantly, My eyes were burning, and I couldn't open them!
Eventually, I was able to rinse my eyes enough to dilute the pepper juice abd the burning stopped. But for a while there, I was convinced I had blinded myself...

oh man, you maced your self |
|
the organic way!
My dad was squeezing the juice of hot red peppers on ants one day, then later, forgetting about the ant crazying incident, rubbed his eyes.
His quote "I won't do that again."
He looked like he had a worst case of pinkeye ever. Ant karma is strong. Don't mess with it.

Or probably scarred in this case.
Of course that wont be much consolation when you're dead.

8. Pour warm milk through your nose |
|
As one would normally run through a saline solution, I should think that a warm milk bath would work quite nicely.
I've never done it (though I regularly do the saline solution thing), though, so you takes your chances with this idea.
And whatever you choose, my empathy goes to you. Jalapeno pain is bad, and I'm sure that, while it's not as bad as getting it in the eye, it's GOTTA suck. Hope the pain goes away soon!

It's just a dull ache now. I resorted to water and that worked a bit.
I think I'll be going to bed. When you hurt yourself eating, it just might be time to call it a day.
Night!

chilis to clear your sinuses, allergies and anything else that was lurking up there where it didn't belong. Oh it will feel good soon, so in the meantime distraction is in order. :-)

worx on tongue-burn from peppers, much hotter than jalap's. dip your finger in the salt bowl, make sure no1 is watching, then jam that sucker where the sun don't shine (w/o a foil reflector!)
pain will ease in 5-10 secs.
