6. Macs are great
But so is the Windows XP operating system AND there's one hell of a lot more software designed for Windows. Used to be a Mac user and loved the elegance of the machine but hated the lack of software. Been through the Mac/PC wars and decided it was just plain stupid.

9. I hate these Mac vs PC debates that pop up...
in forums. They prove nothing, each is different and similar and it all boils down to money and preference, so there you have it.

It is usually just a bad attempt for the original poster to justify what he purchased. I guess you could compare it to someone getting a haircut and repeatedly asking, "Do you like my new cut? Excuse me, do you like my new cut? Why are you walking away?"

Get a life.

12. Can't say I ever liked XP - that much.
I have compared to OS/X . AFter having had to use XP at work, there is still not a good justification for me to switch to windows. While it is better, its still not good enough and not as user friendly as I would like. I see XP as a job security for IT geeks.

Learning about the new Microsoft Service Pack 2 for secriuty updates just reinforces my decisions to stay with Macs. Plus and this may be the deciding issue, I am not into games, and all the software I need is already here.

But yeah, XP is a brave OS. I just think Microsoft still excels at defending weak products. Macs are not going away.

10. Mac since 84.
I have been forced to use wintel crap in corporate situations and those experiences have only reinforced my love of my long line of Macs.

I edit video and produce graphics and streaming media using a Power Book so I can do it all wherever I am.

If only my company wouldn't force me to use wintel. One more reason to look forward to getting home every night!

16. I have one of the older iBooks, and I use it almost exclusively
leaving my iMac to gather dust. Both are year 2000 models, upgraded to OS X, and I've never had any trouble with the hardware, except for a hard disk crash after the iMac came across the country in a moving van.

Next time, I plan to get a 15" PowerBook (or maybe even a whopping 17," so I can see both the source document and my translation at the same time!) for everyday use and a 12" iBook for travel.

I've been using Macs since 1989, and I've owned them since 1993. My first was an LC III (pizza box model), then came a Performa, and then came the iMac, followed by the addition of the iBook a few months later.

My local coffeeshop has free wireless Internet, so it is a hangout for all the self-employed people and students in the neighborhood. At any given time, at least half are using Macs. Once I was in there and the place looked like a Mac showroom, because we had several generations of Mac portables at work at various tables.
