Mondays make me realize how bad the coffee sucks here
We sometimes make coffee on weekends, but we have good coffee. We grind it fresh and one and a half mugs full makes me vibrate for the next 6 hours. (With real milk and sugar, too -- no powdered creamer.)

But then, I get here, and I drink cup after cup of this crap, and nothing. It looks weak, it tastes weak, it buzzes weak. I think it's all decaf and they're not telling us. (At least I'm not paying for it.)

I probably should get a travel mug, at least for Mondays. I'd love to be able to operate a little travel coffee maker here, but the circuit my office is on can barely support my computer as it is.

:hangover:

So -- how's the coffee where you work?

It's been so long, I forget anymore!!

6. Sure, I'll have some coffee
apology accepted.

I'm just beyond the point of frustrated.

Work is SO scarce...and the few jobs out there all suck!

3. I've had 56 cups since May
Just got another cup a minute ago.

It tastes about these same as the ordinary stuff I make at home.

At one office where I worked, the boss started buying fancy coffee and everybody started guzzling the stuff and the secretary put a stop to it because were all getting crazy on it and driving the firm into bankruptsy (which it did eventually, anyway).

5. The thing is -- who knows? These may have been decent beans at one point
But they were ground ages ago, and I think the packets are designed to make less coffee than our machine makes, so it's super-diluted.

We also have nasty, nasty NASTY (did I mention nasty?) flavors -- peaches and cream, buttered rum, blueberry muffin. Who in the hell wants to drink a blueberry muffin? Ick. I stick to the "house blend."

4. I work at home
So my coffee is always good. Fresh ground, strong, with half and half. Last office job I had had terrible coffee, but the one before that we had good coffee delivered.. It was really good because it was stored in a big thermal carafe. IMO coffee that sits on a warmer goes bad in 30 minutes.

I can't drink the Folgers crap that's offered at my parent's house, I'll take tea instead.

7. Coffee Was Good At My Last Job, Though
Once they switched coffee companies, anyway.

but for less than 8 bucks an hour (when I was promised 11 to 13 bucks an hour) I wasn't staying!

8. Worth all of the dime they charge for the crap!
I bring a travel mug with espresso and milk that usually lasts untiil the P.M. I grind the beans every morning. I get the beans from this local place that imports the raw beans and roasts it themselves on a 19th century roaster that takes up a whole corner of their store. Mmmmmmm!

I had a buddy who set up a coffee maker at work making the great coffee I described above and charged a quarter or so for it. One day he got a note specifically asking if he could start buying some Maxwell House shit.

9. Get a good thermos.
Life is too short to drink bad coffee. I have my own contraband coffee maker. Sorry 25 cents a cup is too much for Maxwell House.
