Send a telepathic message to my son. |
|
Edited on Mon Jul-19-04 06:03 PM by rbnyc
Please tell him to turn around. I'm due in about 9 weeks. The doctor says if he doesn't turn around in the next 3 weeks, it's time to worry. He's still standing straight up and down on my left side. He's been that way for months. I keep telling him it's ok to turn around, that I'm strong enough to hold him and he doesn't have to stay all packed over on my left. We've done karmic focus for all kinds of stuff in the lounge. I really don't want to have a C section, so I wondered if every now and then, when you think of it, just shoot a turn-around-now vibe over NYC way.
Thanks so much.
EDIT: typo

if he lays down.
You don't have to follow through - it'll be a valuable first lesson for him :)

My OB mentioned it to me when I had a terrible spell of sciatica during my pregnancy.

I hate to pump other websites ( :-) ) but I found babycenter.com to have good message boards; or at least heavily-used message boards. There may be someone over there with a handy idea also.

My friend Arthur is an English trained ob/gyn. He's retired now, but he taught other ob/gyns in Nashua, NH how to "turn" a fetus in utero. He does it through manipulation. Massage. Wish I could be more help.

turn around! Sounds uncomfortable. My first dropped 2 months early. Dude had a very pointy head when he was born!
Try some quiet music played on the right side, maybe he will move to hear it better? Good luck, I have no suggestions but wanted to wish you luck with that. Massage sounds good too.

He's so big now, his head is shoved up into my ribcage on the left side and he dances on my pubic bone.
When yours dropped, was the feeling unmistakable?

I spent the next two months in the bathroom, the pressure was very strong. I imagine it is much the same with yours when he does his little dance. I got a nasty case of sciatica when he dropped and it felt like he was between my knees. It must be difficult for you to breathe.

loved it but then I was never sick. Every minute feeling that little being in there was such a miracle to me. I hope you get some relief soon, how much longer? Not much I would suspect. Getting excited? I am. I am vicariously enjoying your pregnancy and can't wait for baby posts! I am such a sucker for babies.

even tho I've had terrible symptoms. It's all part of it and I feel so lucky.
I have just less than 9 weeks til I'm due. Part of me doesn't want him to come out. (Maybe that's why he won't turn.) I feel like I'm going to miss him. Tho it will be great to be able to walk and breathe and Pee less than 24 times a day. ;-)

have the chance to miss him. I do know what you mean though. It will be a while before you miss this part, you will be too busy and to taken by the little bundle of joy and crying that comes from you. Then you get the first smile, first pat, first kiss. I am so happy for you.

it's painless... safer for the baby... no permanent damage to the mother (particularly to your genitals)... it's faster... and it's hassle free.

45. Gee, I can't agree with some of these |
|
For one thing, a scar is technically permanent damage, whereas my genitalia has had no permanent damage after giving birth (unless you consider a bit of vaginal stretching damage; I can see where one could). I understand that most women experience more pain while the uterus and flesh heal from the cuts than if the uterus simply had to relax back to its nonpregnant size.

Doesn't it take longer to recover? I have to get back to work ASAP. I don't have paid leave, and I'm the main source of income at home. Also, I'm so horrified at the idea of being sliced open. I know I'm getting cut somewhere, one way or the other...tho I'm hoping that I'm just really stretchy. ;-) But to have a big incision like that--hell, I was freaked out by the amnio!
:scared:
But to each their each.

C-sections take twice as long to recover from. C-sections should only be done as a last resort. IMHO

I had to have what's called an 'inversion' with my 1st kid...basically this entails being strapped to a table Jesus stylee, 4 sadistic doctors (2 on either side) pushing like mad...*encouraging* the baby to turn on its own. I really, REALLY hope you don't have to go through any such thing, it was the singuarly most painful thing I've ever felt in my life. And I ended up having a c-section anway because she didn't turn. :(
(FWIW I'd take a c-section ANY day rather than actual labor and pushing and all...yeeeek! x()
I'll be sending positive wishes to you Rene.
