Should I NOT Post Silly News Stories Anymore In The Lounge?

It has been pointed out to me over and over again that the only contribution I make here is inane postings in the LOUNGE that help nobody. Apparently, the REST of my "contributions" go unread because I am known as this "Lounge Moran" who doesn't do a THING for the cause.

Note: I am NOT asking for accolades here but if you feel that all I do is make the Lounge a "sillier place" then tell me here and i will stop today.

I want to do more and think i HAVE but feel that we all need a little humor in our lives. I wouldn't start this if it was just one or two who have said this.... but this is the most regular criticism against me. Apparently, some feel that I cannot have a "serious opinion" on matters because of my time in the Lounge.

9. Two things

First off, under no circumstances should you stop posting in the Lounge. You're about the best thing about this place. :)

Second though, you have to be prepared for the flak you're gonna get if you accuse others of "wasting bandwidth" on other forums. There are a lot of people on DU who consider the entire Lounge a waste of bandwidth. (This is a huge pet peeve of mine personally because you gotta laugh sometimes.)

My initial response in post #60 was to him and not you, but then our little flamewar started with your response to me and I reckon I got the two of y'all mixed up. Mea culpa. You did not use that particular phrase. And I apologize for getting it wrong. However it is easy to infer that you agreed with him since your response to him was "DING! DING! DING! We have a winner". :)

I wouldn't have stopped in the lounge. If I want to have a serious discussion, I'll go to LBN. If I want to fight with someone, I'll go to GD. If I want to laugh or just talk to people, I'll come to the lounge.
