Linda Ronstadt and The Dixie Chicks
I think there should be a concert tour of them together... a celebration of free speech, a tribute to outspoken women of conscience, and musically, they would complement each other well.

What do you think, DUers?

1. The opening act
Could be Charlie Daniels. There'd be loads of fireworks.

3. I am not a big fan of either
But I am a fan of free speech and strong-minded women. To me, that's more than a fair trade.

Besides, I am playing concert promoter here, not a DJ... I think a tour of them could raise money for the ACLU, Emily's List, etc...

6. Add Sheryl Crow and it would be a Hell of a concert.
Whoopie could be the warmup. Actually, I think is a great idea and there are a lot of women who you know would join in. Margaret Cho, Janine Garofalo - damn, you're on to something. Get going on it.

7. Sheryl!
Yes. She would be great.

Somehow she was lucky enough to escape the backlash for her antiwar tshirt, perhaps that was because it was before it started. Yet, the Dixie Chicks and Linda have born the brunt of mass hostility since.

Janine and Whoopi... hmmm... good good, yes yes.

This thing is snowballing. We'll have 30 performers on 5 stages, in 50 cities.

You get a cut for the idea, but my lawyers will call your lawyers to hash out the contractual details.

By the way, my lawyer is John Edwards, so good luck, BatBadger.

Edit: *ruthless promoter laughter*

10. How nice for you. Meet my lawyer...

He fights dirty. Care to negotiate? Litigate? Have your ankles gnawed off?

14. Let's invite Bonnie Raitt, too.
I'm pretty sure she thinks Bush sucks, too.

Anybody every hear Linda sing "Colorado"? I've had a torrid 30 year love affair with that woman....damn shame we never met.
