Moore: "Gibson Quit After White House Warnings"
http://www.imdb.com/news/wenn/#celeb10
Controversial director Michael Moore claims Mel Gibson backed out of financing his hit documentary Fahrenheit 9/11 after Republican sources told the actor he would never be invited to the White House again. The explosive Palme D'Or-winning documentary, which examines American President George W Bush's decisions following the September 11 attacks and the run-up to the war in Iraq, was rejected by their original financier Icon, owned by Gibson. Moore says, "We were just starting the film when I got a call from my agent who said he'd spoken to someone at Icon who was wondering if there was a way to get out of the deal. They said they'd received calls from several top Republicans - people connected to the White House. These people made it clear that Mel Gibson wouldn't get any invitations to the White House if they went ahead and financed the film." Icon dropped the deal soon after, but luckily for Moore, Miramax boss Harvey Weinstein stepped in and saved the day.

If I would never be invited to the Bush White House because of a film I financed I would consider that the luckiest day in my life

5. This would be Mel Gibson with the fake Australian accent ?
Whose father moved the family there so his sons could avoid the draft? But now he is a fundie and a Lincoln bedroom sleeper along with the rest of the chicken hawkes.

7. The jokes on Mel.
What has this picture made already, 100 million? How much more will it make when you take into account overseas sales and DVD's. That kind of money would buy you access to the White House with change to spare. I love it when a republican looses out.

10. He'll be making money off that for years.
Every Easter, hell even every Christmas he'll make a nice chunk of change off that.

11. Michael Moore: Baby You're A Rich Man
With an over 93 million dollar gross on ticket sales in the US alone, Michael Moore now has accumulated a sizable amount of capital. That makes for a lot of clout he hadn't had earlier.

Just think of what sort of cinematic mischief Moore could get into with that kind of dough. I hope Republican honchos and Grand Poobahs of the so-called "Conservative" movement are also thinking about what Michael Moore could do when their heads hit their right-wing pillows at night.

Unpleasant dreams, right wingie-dingies!
