My computer won't come on!! Help
I'm on my daughters computer

I c ame i
n this morning and turned on the power button and NOTHING

I usually let my computer run 24/7. My daughter networks with mine and she stays up late.likes to acces the music andd stuff. So anyway I decideed, heck, I'll just give it a rest tonight

Put "shut down computer" and walked away I never came back a physically turned it off.

SO now I pushed the button anc it won't power up

The cable modem, monitor and storage drive ( thank god I got a storage drive to back up stuff) all are on and powered.

I'll be going through troubleshooting site this morning.and a little later I'll take the back off and check for dust, etc.

ANy help?

If not, there might be one less mod in LBN for a while

1. I know this is simplisitic
but check the power cables to make sure everything is plugged in properly before you do anything else. Also do you have a surge protector on that outlet? If so, did you remember to reset it?

2. Power Supply?
Check the AC cord first. If everything else runs off the same outlet and is up and working, the power supply in the computer itself might be bad.

3. I have seen many fixed by unplugging for a short time.
Unplug the AC cord for a bit, plug back in and try again.
Don't know why it works, but I have seen it work many times.

6. Here's A Flow Fhart To Help Diagnose The Problem
A power supply is fairly inexpensive and easily replaced if it comes to that: http://www.fonerbooks.com/power.htm

10. Me too !
Only the problem was the monitor plug was not tightly seated. Nearly drove me crazy.

8. LOL - I kept
messing with the power cord and the reset switch and then I banged on the computer and blew in the holes. I'll clean it later with compressed air.

I came on!!

Remember everyone - back up everything

Thanks all for trying to help.

11. it may be possible it wouldn't come on because your
fans were dirty and not rotating.
