I had the time of my life !!!!!!!!
Edited on Tue Jul-20-04 06:33 AM by MrsGrumpy
I woke up feeling so wonderful, I'm going to share it with you all!!!

Yesterday was my 8th anniversary of wedded bliss (for the most part) with MrG. I did the usual. I went out and bought him a shirt and two pairs of jeans. This is what we normally do.

Then the garbage disposal backed up. :( I was going to get all dressed up and meet him at the door. I never do this, I usually meet him at the kitchen table with mussy hair and yesterday's T'shirt. The garbage disposal thing was a minor (ha) setback. I went and grabbed a coat hanger and a wrench ( I am an accomplished plumber you see). I undid the pipe connector and....SPLOOSH!!! Icky spaghetti-ized (we had scampi last night) muck water came spraying out over me, the floor, yesterday's mail, my son...the cat...aye yi yi!!!

So, no problem. I had an hour to get it cleaned up and myself as well. I thought I did...

MrG takes this moment to come home...through the back door...into Lake Grumpy and greeted by the swamp thing (me). :(

There is a gloriously romantic ending to this. Those of you who know MrG, or at least what I write of him here...know that he is famous for his "presents". One year, I got a lawn mower, another, a front hall rug. Well this year, after I dried off, he gave me one of those little frou-frou bags that other girls get from the jewelry store. You know...the ones with the net bows that just whisper, "expensive stuff inside" ??? And in it, were two boxes. One held a pair of emerald and diamond earrings, and the other a matching necklace. MrG has NEVER done this...not ever, not even when I writhed in agony to give him a son. ;)Not really, I had an epidural on that one. I was speechless. And with that, he told me (MrG is not famous for being candid or emotional) how much he loved me...how much my being sick has scared him...what a wonderful life it's been. sniffle...

And then I gave him his annual package of underwear, his shirt, and his jeans.....

and he LOVED them. And I Love him. Jewelry or not, I'm one lucky girl. :) :) :) :)

P.S. Then we went out to dinner and to see Spidey 2 with our little boy James.

Thanks for letting me spill!!! It was amazing!

18. Thanks Big!!!
He really shocked me. He wishes he had a camera. :) It's what has carried me through washing up the mess of a kitchen this morning. ;)

I never got around to it last night! :7

7. You found one not allergic to jewelry stores!!!!
How'd you do that?

I have never been w/ a man that didn't have a severe allergy to stores where baubles are sold. (Anyway, that's the best explanation I can come up with.)

his best friend had to go along to pick out the ring. :7

8. Congratulations!
We just had our 4 year last week! (Still no jewelry though. He lets me buy lots of other expensive toys though, so that's ok. I wouldn't know what to do with expensive jewelry!)

Glad you guys had a great time. Sorry about the scampi part!

was empty except for my baby ring, my daughter's jewelry and a puka shell necklace (bright purple even).
