Pamela Anderson's first NOVEL finally to hit bookstores
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,126303,00.html

Yes, the buxom blond actress has added author to her ever-growing resume with the release of "Star" (search) (Atria Books, $24), a sexy, sizzling beach read that might be the antidote for all those who've struggled through Bill Clinton's (search) 957-page tome "My Life."

Sound familiar? The story, Anderson freely admits, is "inspired" by her own life — from growing up on a small island to having sex with rock stars.

Early in the novel, which runs just under 300 pages, the title character, Star Wood Leigh, has a lesbian encounter with a pal. Later, she's in an orgy scene with her rock-star lover and has a fling with a gal named Bambina.

Yes, dear readers, there's plenty of sex.

"I hope that there's enough ," says Anderson's ghost writer, Eric Shaw Quinn (search).

14. Thinks she can write?
They even mentioned the name of the ghost writer. She pretty much gave him some ideas and the ghost writer penned the book.

18. Well, she thinks she can sell books
All these people (Jay Leno, Madonna) are coming out with books, saying that there's nothing good on the marketplace and that they were just inspired to write. Most of these things make a big splash in the beginning and then sales fall off right away. They drain their publisher's publicity budgets for nothing - for the most part the books are poorly reviewed and not popular with booksellers. And good books by unknown authors get none of the promotion they used to get. I guess since this is a romance novel, it might not work the same way, but it's still annoying.

10. Imagine somehow getting the book...
...and discovering that it is pure literary genius, on the scale of Dostoevsky or Thomas Mann or something.

11. Thank God!
I once knew a self-described Pam Anderson fan. I could never figure it out unless it was one of those "Big tits, I like 'em" kind of things.

But finally, she has a body of work.

15. How many of you have written a novel?
It's not easy. Anderson probably had a ghost writer, but still...

"Early in the novel, which runs just under 300 pages, the title character, Star Wood Leigh, has a lesbian encounter with a pal. Later, she's in an orgy scene with her rock-star lover and has a fling with a gal named Bambina."

And here I thought she was anti-Bush?

17. Just having a little fun at her expense
I'm writing one now actually. And no it's not easy. Actually I don't think Pamela Anderson is dumb. But she does feed into a sexbot image that's very easy to make fun of.
