My firm blocks what it feels are "objectionable" web sites. Some of these, like porn, I can understand.

But yesterday, after I had already accessed "This Land Is Your Land" here at work, I sent the link to a few pals here. No one could access it, so I tried it again.

Blocked. The reason? "Tasteless."

Tasteless? Sure, if you're a right-wing nut job with his nose so far up W's ass that you can't take seeing him lampooned even though Kerry's lampooned, too.

Jesus. "Tasteless" my ass.

Or maybe because they used the word "pussy" -- that in itself is highly objectionable.

I think it's probably blocked because, even though there are lawyers from both sides of the aisle working on both campaigns, one of our guys is the main (I think) finance lawyer for BC04.

That's the cynical view. The reality is probably that they don't want staff having fun on the job.

I've been trying everything I can think of to circumvent it, to no avail. If 'This Land' gets posted on a different site - one that the Net Nanny doesn't recognize, I WILL find it and pass it along.
