Yesterday evening, 6-term GOP Congressman Jim Greenwood (PA-8) decided to retire from the House of Reps. (Read the CNN story here.) This is a major opportunity for a Democratic pick-up.

Greenwood's Democratic Opponent, Ginny Schrader, is in a great position to win the seat, but she needs cash. Many Democratic blogs, including Kos, have taken up her cause overnight, and she has already raised thousands of dollars. I strongly urge DUers to help out, too.

5. Because the Bucks County Democratic Party is lame

I first volunteer with them during the 92 Clinton Campaign and after that everything went downhill. They wanted me & a friend to start the Bucks County Young Democrats but that fell through because of all the party manipulating. I pretty much gave up after 96.

But that's just me :D

BTw, I have just donated about 20 minutes earlier. Personally I think she'll do better without the local dem party, but that's just my jaded opinion! If she has Emilys List support then that's all she needs!!

8. I met him when I lived in Bucks County

He's a very nice guy, and when he was a state legislator, he moderated the republican party.

He also said that he thought much of the Monica Lewinsky stuff was way too overdone.
