Suburban Sprawl Weighs On Waistlines |
|
< http://www.cnn.com/2003/HEALTH/diet.fitness/08/29/unhealthy.sprawl.ap/index.html> How how could we put a Republican spin on something that lauds European urban and suburban design over American? Perhaps "Get Out and Walk Around More So You Can See How Much Better Your Neighbor's Stuff Is Than Yours So You Will Need To Go Buy More Stuff."

advocates of alternatives to cars have been saying that for years.
I like to combine exercise with errands, so that I conwider a 30-minute walk to be not too far to go. It has the added benefit of letting me explore my new neighborhood on foot.
It's odd that people in my neighborhood will blithely walk 2.5 miles around Lake Harriet for exercise but won't walk an equal distance to 50th and France (Minneapolis people will know what I'm talking about) to shop or go to the bank or post office.
