5. Many happy returns of the day!
I wish I could recall where I saw it, but I remember he and another actor were being interviewed, and when asked about little Ronnie from the Andy Griffith Show, Don laughed, "We call him Mr. Howard now."

6. No Time For Sergeants
this movie featured Don Knotts and Andy Griffith before the Andy Griffith show ... Knotts played a "very nervous" army guy who had to administer dexterity tests to the recent draftees ... the scene he had with Andy was a classic ... great scene with the psychiatrist too ...

and I'm not sure about this, but I think Jamie Farr (Klinger from MASH) had a bit part in the movie too ...

10. Don Knotts was fantastic on the Steve Allen Show (Man on the Street)
Allen: Are you nervous?

Knotts: (With shaky voice) NOOP!

You weren't on the Steve Allen team unless you were a comedic genius. That was Don Knotts.

12. That show was to highlight Andy Griffith but Don took the show over.
And pretty much put Andy in the background. After that show was cancelled Andy Griffith faded away into obscurity while Don Knott's career took off.
He made that show.

13. Don Knotts and Art Carney were/are two of the most underated actors...
of all time.

Barney, always trying to be the Macho Deputy, the "Wise Sage" to Opie and general all around everyman. I remember when he finally got to date Thelma Lou, I thought his testicles would explode...:)

The Ghost and Mr Chicken, with the Ladies of the occult running around saying something like, "Abbu Abbu Accaba!"

Don Knotts is indeed a treasure....:)
