Police: Couple Leaves Baby In Car Alone For 3 Hours

MIDDLETON, Wis. -- A Middleton couple left their 1-year-old child alone in a car in a parking lot for three hours when they went to a bar, according to police.

Gerald Moen and Melissa Anderson face nine months in prison if convicted.

Police said that when they were arrested, Moen and Anderson had blood-alcohol levels higher than 0.20. They told police the child was in the car because they couldn't find a babysitter.

By the sound of it, they were perfectly sober when they went into the bar. They made a sober decision to abandon a tiny baby outside for hours, and they should be criminally prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Besides, if their BA was .020 I have to ask: How were they planning on getting that baby home? By driving? Not only were they willing to risk their childs life by abandoning it outdoors for hours, they were willing to put the baby (and everyone else on the road) in further jeapordy by driving home blasted.

Jail time for these losers.
