Help with Realplayer download alternatives, please.

somebody linked a site that allowed the use of downloads that lets you get around the Realplayer site.

I thought I saved them, but didn't, apparently

anybody familiar with this site?

I know I got it from somebody here

it involved a bunch of different links, so I didn't do it at the time, as I wasn't sure what to do.

anybody know what I'm talking about?

I want to be able to listen to AAR, but don't wanna have to go to realplayer, as they messed up my machine last time I had them on.

in terms of getting use of realplayer, sound and video stuff:

"RealMedia .smi and .smil files are not fully supported, only the first part will usually be played."

and.......is this thing safe?

do you use it, or know anything about it?

I'm nervous, as I got a new computer, due to the fact that some sort of virus/worm wrecked my old one twice, and I'm leery about downloading stuff out of the blue, even though that's what I axed about.

I use an alt player too and it seems to work okay.

7. so I downloaded it to HD

then tried to play AAR, and it wouldn't open; windows didn't recognize file.....sent me to microsoft site, which is greek to me

9. Did you do the install?

Just click on the .exe file that you downloaded. It should do all the work after that.

Then try AAR again. IF that doesn't work...let me know

There may be some formats that are not yet handled (haven't encountered any) but the site also include codec packs that are continually developed to extend the capability of the player.
