Award-Winning Composer Goldsmith Dies

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Academy Award-winning composer Jerry Goldsmith, who created the memorable music for scores of classic movies and television shows from the "Star Trek" and "Planet of the Apes" series to "The Man from U.N.C.L.E." and "Perry Mason," has died, his personal assistant said. He was 75.

5. Wow. I always liked Goldsmith's music.
Particularly "Star Trek - the Motion Picture". It perfectly captured the themes of Star Trek.

That's too bad about his death.

8. Goldsmith and John Barry are my two favorite film composers.
Goldsmith created some memorable film music, that's for sure.
