So what WAS the buried secret of M. Night Shyamalan?
I saw the promos for the "documentary" on SciFi but I couldn't watch it. What was the secret?

1. it was a hoax
Shyamalan and the film-maker admitted it was just an advertising stunt a few days ago.

7. It Wasn't Even A Good One
I watched part of it and it was obvious that the people in it (or at least a lot of them) were actors...

12. I know a couple film journalists who are MIGHTY pissed about it too...
And so the hoax might well backfire on the film. Which I hear isn't that good anyway. I think M. Night has real talent and isn't afraid to take risks (his use of silence). But "Sixth Sense" only works once, and "Unbreakable" was laughingly bloated by its own (read: the director's) self-importance. "Signs" is the best he's done, IMO.

6. Does anyone else think Shyamalan is a shitty filmmaker?
I liked The Sixth Sense but all of his other films have been CRAP. And now he's resorting to this kind of a gimmick? Give me a break.

9. hrmm..
I loved Sixth Sense, hated Unbreakable, but really liked Signs. So he's two for three of the films I've seen. The Village looks pretty good, from what I've seen so far.

10. I don't like him.
I was actually kind of enjoying The Sixth Sense up until that "surprise" ending. It ruined the entire movie for me. I haven't liked anything else he's done. As for his latest movie, I'll wait for the DVD.

11. not shitty but overrated
I really liked "The Sixth Sense". "Unbreakable" was OK but only for comic fans and it wasn't anything special. "Signs" sucked big donkey balls.

8. turns out the buried secret was . . .
a Johnny Depp cameo ;-).

He was the only one who could act in that whole thing! lol. Though he was a nice surprise *drool*, 3 HOURS was a bit much. I switched shortly after JD's appearance. I didn't know he was gonna be on it, so that was a nice surprise. The "Blair Witch" ripoff was so obvious from the start, that I almost missed him though!
