The funniest damned thing just happened at the barbershop
While I was getting a haircut this guy comes into the shop.

He says "I saw the barbershop sign and you all have to live up to the name SOMEONE in here has to be able to help me."

The owner (a really nice guy) says"What can we help you with sir?"

"Well I am trying to find a person to talk to about my Verizon phone bill. I went over to the Verizon building (~13 stories with name Verizon clearly on it- a part of the Richmond skyline) and NOBODY from Verizon works there. I asked 7 people and no one knew of anyone actually working there. I was going to raise a fuss but there were too many cops around, they would have thrown my blacka** in jail. So I see a Verizon truck and I figured if I waited around for a few minutes I could ask them, I did and then I saw the barber pole outside. Does any of you know where I can talk to a person I can't even get through on their phone line"

The owner looks at me, myself and the two ladies who cut hair look at each other, and the shoeshine guy is scratching his head.......

The woman who cuts my hair (from France, with tourettes, does a good job) says "Hold it" and pulls a box of 3X5 cards out of the drawer at her work area.

She pulls out the business card of the PRESIDENT of Verizon in Virginia, she cuts his hair. The shop owner says, "WANT TO GO TO THE TOP?!?!?!"

The shop owner calls the number "Hey Bob this is Bill listen I've got this guy here........."

The president first asked "Is his phone still working?" (it was) he then took down the guy's name and number and asked when someone could call him-"I can get home in 40 minutes" "Give him about an hour" says the shop owner. "Okay done".

Do you live a David Lynch movie?

That is a wild story, though.

4. No cuts yet
Though I must say her "police woman" outfit at Halloween time was much worth the tip. :wow:

7. I Work for Verizon
and a lot of my jobs have involved billing for residential customers.

I can tell you one thing -- nobody here understand those bills, either. I'm sure the president of Verizon, Virginia doesn't either. :)

(It's not that nobody cares -- it's just way more complex than you might think think, there's a long history, and certain things have to be presented certain ways for regulatory purposes.(

9. Oh, Calling the President Might be a Good Idea
Writing a letter would be even better.

He (or she) probably has and executive staff to handle customer complaints. It's a better way to get attention than calling the business office.

10. This guy needed help NOW!
I don't realy expect the Pres. himself to call (though that would be a great PR movement-word of mouth wise) but he could get someone to call.

If I the President I would get the Customer Service manager to come to my office and call the guy from there.
