I remember someone posting rebuttals 2 this a while back - I know I'm sick of posts like this also - but I am really tired of my mother emailing me this crap when I have repeatedly asked her not 2 so I need rebuttal info - did a 'search' but nothing relevant turned up. Thanx

armor for our troops. With Kerry as president our Army will be made up of
naked men running around with sticks and clubs.

He also voted to kill all anti terrorism activities of every agency of the
U.S. Government and to cut the funding of the FBI by 60%, to cut the funding
for the CIA by 80%, and cut the funding for the NSA by 80%.

But then he voted to increase OUR funding for U.N operations by 800%!!!

In it's original design the aluminum would catch fire and cook the occupants alive.

Anyway, what's more important? Buying hardware at inflated prices from defense contractors or paying money for training our troops to deal with new threats? Fighter jets aren't much good against terrorists, but highly trained special ops units are.

The greatest strength in our military is the people, not the hardware.

7. It's time you grew up and stood up to your Mother.

Whatever you've been doing to date has not resulted in her respecting you or treating you with respect. When anyone treats you badly (except maybe your boss if you don't have another job waiting), you walk away from the relationship after explaining to them that you won't take this disrespect anymore and laying down your terms for change. It's very simple with family members. You agree to disagree and to stop discussing politics. If she persists in sending this crap, get a new email address and don't give it to her.

My Mom had some very racist comments at one time and also took out her frustrations at my step-father by berating sales people. I called her on both behaviors and told her she should be ashamed of herself and that I was very disappointed in her and that she was setting a terrible example for her grandchildren which I would not allow. She fell into line pretty damn quickly because she really does love me and her grandkids.

I am the ONLY progressive person in my family. I cannot tell U how many times I have 'stood up' 2 my mother and father and grandmother and brother and sisters. I am stuck in some head picture they have all decided I must B and there is no getting around it. My mother would NEVER confront me one on one - no one in my family will. I do not engage them politically cuz I have nothing in common w/ them. It is this hit 'n run BS that really fires me up.

add'l - my mom has very low self esteem - I think she has a huge problem recognizing other women who do not. It is outside her sphere of experience.
