What performers do you boycott for his/her politics or |
|
other interests?
I used to love Bruce Willis, but can't stand him now because he's a loud mouthed repub.
Kurt Russell is a friend of Ted Nugent and has hunting parties on an island, so I won't ever see a Kurt Russell film again.
Tom Selleck, because of the NRA, Gerald McRaney and Delta Burke. (True story: I used to work for Universal Studios and McRaney was working there on Major Dad at the time. His personal assistant was cool, though. I saw her about a year later, and she was working from the pool. I asked her why she wasn't working for the "republican hunter" anymore, and she said, that's exactly WHY she wasn't working for him anymore!)
Cybill Shepherd owns a fox farm to raise her own "fur coats."
What performers have you boycotted after finding out more about what kind of person they really are?

Because politics is just one facet of my life. I can enjoy a performance by a Republican artist. Just as I can hug my Bush loving aunt. :hi:

I think it's sorta silly.
edit: I don't believe that about Cybill Shepherd, either. Doesn't sound like her, and I couldn't see anything on google about it.

13. I had heard it about 15 years ago |

So she might have "seen the light" since then. She was riding high with Moonlighting when I heard about it.

Season Hubley at a animal rights benefit once, and she indicated that she was embarassed she had been married to such an ardent hunter and animal killer. She said it was part of why they were divorced.

I figure I'm never going to agree with everybody, and everybody has a right to voice their opinion. I boycott the political performers, like Ruah and O'Reilly. I also won't watch Dennis Miller. I still like a good Bruce Willis flick for the occasional evening of mindless entertainment.

7. A couple of smug posts there>>>> |
|
I vomit at Charlton Heston, though how he was played for a fool during Ben-Hur is fun. Mel Fibson, though he was cute in Gallipoli.

9. I don't think I'm smug. I just don't paint every part of my life with |
|
the political brush. I dislike some Democratic artists, because they're just bad artists. It's silly to limit ourselves.

I'm not big on movies, so that's not a problem. Most of the music I listen to and like seem to always be more liberal. Although I did wing a Billy Joel album like a Frisbee once when he was on television saying shit about Clinton. But that album was given to me and I was never really a fan.

The rest I'm aware of as I watch, but tend not to turn off (though I usually skip Charlie Daniels and Ted Nugent)

11. Dennis Miller, Arnold Schwarzenneger, Mel Gibson, Sean Connery |
|
And now that I found out BW is a die-hard repub, I am thinking about it... I don't care for entertainment enough to solidly watch anyone whose ideals I hate.
