In the middle of a move

Swell, isn't it?

Your toothbrush is in the new place, your towels in the old place.
Your shoes in the new place, your socks in the old place.

Spent my first night in my new place last night. I brought my wife's ash urn in from the pouring rain and put it on the fireplace mantle, and put up a little picture of her beside it. I kept searching her face for some sign that she approved of my new house. I don't know.

Still have days worth of work to empty out our old house of five years together and clean it up for the new tenants. Can't describe what it's like to tear apart a home two people shared together, by yourself.

I found her 7th grade Piano Competition certificate, from 1972.

5. No courage or honor in this

I was forced to move by my landlady. I've been an emotional basket case throughout the whole deal.

I'm not facing anything, I'm not on a journey, bravely facely new challenges. I'm being dragged through this by my ankles.
