The oldest newspaper I could find was a copy of the Financial Times dated Monday March 4, 2002. Beat that.

I have a copy somewhere of the Hartford (CT) Courant dated late March or early April 1999, the day after my alma mater (UConn) won the national basketball championship.

But wait, there's more - I also have the Chicago Daily Tribune from August 1926 announcing Rudolph Valentino's death. My oldest magazine is Moving Pictures from 1911.

18. I have a box that was found in one of the houses my parents bought
I know there is the Nov 23rd JFK assassination, the moon landing, Elvis' death and more. I am pretty sure it has D-day in there also, and if it's not at my house my father has it. I have to check when I get home.

with a Woodrow Wilson speech on the front page (my great-grandfather saw Wilson give the speech and saved the newspaper afterward).
