1. And all because Berry wanted more screentime in X-Men 2.

2. I think that may be insulting to "Showgirls"
Gotta give it up for the hometown guy though.

"You'd never know Berry is an Oscar-winning actress -- her performance as Patience is downright amateurish."
-- Eric Harrison, HOUSTON CHRONICLE

4. I saw 2 reviews refer to Showgirls.
You know it's bad if it's compared to such a stinker of a movie.

6. "Showgirls" set the bar for camp/trash/exploitation films
It's a very, very low bar, but a bar nonetheless.

11. There's a new Showgirls VIP edition DVD coming out!
For real!

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00020X88O/qid=1090604580/sr=8-2/ref=pd_ka_2/104-5205715-6866305?v=glance&s=dvd&n=507846

I want it just for the "Pin the Pasties on the Showgirl" game. Complete with blindfold and pasties!

12. SHOWGIRLS - best "so bad it's good" movie ever
Sadly, it appears Catwoman is "so bad, it's bad". :(

8. And Ebert's been positive lately
That about does it for me. I don't have any interest in this movie. Also, Halle Berry is attractive, but I can think of a lot of celebs who are more attractive to me.

5. It does not suprise me...
I don't know what it is but I find her acting skills very shallow...almost cardboard-like. She is beautiful but you have to be more than beautiful to be a good actress....

7. "The stench of the litter pan..."
LOL - that'a great analogy. Too bad this had to suck, Catwoman has always been one of my greatest heroines. I always hated that sanctimonious Batman and his silly Robin. I cheered for Catwoman every time.

10. The previews for this movie even suck
Halle Berry sometimes can act (Jungle Fever) and sometimes can't. This is one of the times where her acting leaves something to be desired.

Personally, I didn't like her acting in the movie she won an Oscar for. She seemed to be trying too hard.

13. I feel so bad about DU-er CatWoman's less than successful movie debut
Edited on Fri Jul-23-04 12:48 PM by rocknation
I've started a condolances thread. Since she was humble enough not to inundate us with posts about her movie debut, I think she deserve some support from her fellow DU-ers!
