The Official "Condolances To CatWoman for Her Bad Movie Reviews" thread
Edited on Fri Jul-23-04 12:43 PM by rocknation
DU-er CatWoman has been humble and gracious enough not to shamelessly plug the fact that she is the star of an autobiographical movie which opened nationwide today. Unfortunately, the reviews that have come in have been a little less than positive. And on yesterday's edition of the sports talk show Pardon The Interruption, co-host Tony Kornheiser said, "I paid to see her naked in her last two movies. Why should I now pay to see her dressed?" How rude! Anyway, I say that we need to rally round our fellow DU-er and give her all the support we can!

5. LOL. To quote Adam West on the Simpsons...
Michelle Pfeiffer? Ha! The only true Catwoman is Julie Newmar, Lee Meriwether, or Eartha Kitt.

3. I was impressed by how in shape she was.
Less impressed by the outfit, acting and everything else.

6. Halle Berry wasn't Storm, and she's not Catwoman.
Easily one of the most overrated actresses in Hollywood. If she looked like me no one would give her the time of day, let alone an Oscar.

And what's with this Patience horseshit? Catwoman = Selina Kyle, any grade school kid knows that. I knew this movie was going to suck ass when the pics of the outfit first started making the rounds on the comics sites. As my best friend put it, she looks like she got jumped in an alley by a bunch of feral cats. What was wrong with Michelle Pfeiffer's outfit?

Well there's not much to expect from a movie that had no less than four screenwriters, and was directed by a guy pretentious enough to call himself by one name--and this is his first movie.

*snorts geekily and walks away*

7. In regards to the outfit...
Showing less is best. Michelle Pfeiffer's outfit was much better.

8. Yes, yes, yes!!
I agree so wholeheartedly. :loveya: I was so pissed that she was playing Storm and I knew she'd screw it up, and I was right. At least I don't have to see her butcher Catwoman, although Benjamin Bratt's in it.

10. You know what really breaks my heart?
I always said Angela Bassett would be perfect as Storm: she's tough, is plausible as a bad ass, and has the acting chops to pull off a regal African princess. I heard recently that Angela was actually considered for the part, but TPTB canned the idea because...wait for it...she's "too old".

I fucking hate Hollywood.

Poor Benjamin Bratt, being sullied by this piece of crap. He should go crawling back to Dick Wolf and ask for a job. They need a new ADA on original recipe Law & Order, don't they?

12. Yes, Angela Bassett would be great too.
My cousin and I kicked around the idea of Iman for Storm, since she didn't do all that much in the movie anyway.

Yeah, I'd like to see him on Law and Order. I dunno about the ADA thing, but I'd like to see him on SVU, personally. Doesn't Dick Wolf have another one coming out soon? And please get rid of Fred Thompson as the DA. He sucked as my senator and he sucks as an actor.

13. Ooh, Iman would have been great.
Nothing capable stuntwomen couldn't prop up, at any rate.

I'm with you on Fred Thompson. We call him Senator Cracker on the snarky tv site I post on. Even Dianne Wiest was better than him.

I'm just glad they got rid of Elizabeth "Femmebot" Rohm. "Like, your honor, that is sooooo hearsay!"

15. Does Halle Berry REALLY rub catnip over her face in this?
Allegedly, there's a scene in "Catwoman" where she does actually does this. :-)

16. Yes. And it's actually a lot worse than it sounds.
I'm one of those evil baby-eating downloaders and I saw it. There are no words for that catnip scene.

There is only one better instance of Oscar(tm) winner schedenfreude, and that is Cuba Gooding, Jr. in Boat Trip. We hardly knew ye.
