Edited on Fri Jul-23-04 03:57 PM by NightTrain
Yesterday's post: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=105x1435960

Inspired by the recent "Two-Hit Wonders" thread, I've been going through my copy of BILLBOARD'S TOP POP SINGLES, 1955-1996, and jotting down the artists who placed 2-4 singles total in the Top 40. Her are the I's:

JANIS IAN: Society’s Child (Baby, I’ve Been Thinking) (#14. 1967), At Seventeen (#3, 1975)

ICEHOUSE: Crazy (#14, 1987), Electric Blue (#7, 1988)

JULIO IGLESIAS: To All The Girls I’ve Loved Before (duet with Willie Nelson) (#5, 1984), All of You (#19, 1984)

THE IKETTES: I’m Blue (The Gong-Gong Song) (#19, 1962), Peaches ‘N’ Cream (#36, 1965)

INFORMATION SOCIETY: What’s On Your Mind (Pure Energy) (#3, 1988), Walking Away (#9, 1988), Think (#28, 1990)

LUTHER INGRAM: (If Loving You Is Wrong) I Don’t Want To Be Right (#3, 1972), I’ll Be Your Shelter (In Time of Storm) (#40, 1973)

INNER CIRCLE: Bad Boys (#8, 1993), Sweat (A La-La-La Song) (#16, 1993)

THE INNOCENTS: Honest I Do (#28, 1960), Gee Whiz (#28, 1961)

THE INTRUDERS: Cowboys To Girls (#6, 1968), (Love Is Like A) Baseball Game (#26, 1968), I’ll Always Love My Mama--Part 1 (#36, 1973)

DONNIE IRIS: Ah! Leah (#29, 1981), Love Is Like A Rock (#37, 1982), My Girl (#25, 1982)

THE IRISH ROVERS: The Unicorn (#7, 1968), Wasn’t That A Party! (#37, 1981)—as The Rovers

BURL IVES: A Little Bitty Tear (#9, 1962), Funny Way of Laughin’ (#10, 1962), Call Me Mr. In-Between (#19, 1962), Mary Ann Regrets (#39, 1962)

1. Julio??? He isn't what you consider a few hit wonder...
those are artist that are around for 1 or 2 albums then gone from the face of the earth. Julio had a very long and successful career...now having said that...I can't stand him. Also,Burl Ives was an actor who also sang....can't count that one either. If your gonna do that then include Bob Hope...yes thats right Bob Hope had a hit in the 50's with "Buttons and Bows".

2. Umm, dude....
You do realize that you're getting all worked up over Julio Iglesias and Burl Ives? That may be a symptom of a much deeper problem!
