I thought I'd dip into my own hate mail bag and share a real winner with everyone.

As you read this diatribe, keep in mind that the person who sent it to me did so using an anonymous re-mailing service. That bit of information will be an important key very soon. Here goes:


Anyone who "asks" that readers send him "hate mail" is obviously a glutton for punishment or just plain demented. It is time to face a few facts here:

1. Despite what you claim, you are NOT a "journalist. Legitimate journalists do not conduct themselves like complete assholes on the internet as you do. You are just one of millions of "bloggers' world-wide who actually think their ridiculous postings mean anything.

2. You are a consumate (sic) liar. I have perused many of your so-called "writings" and find them frought (sic) with inaccuracies, innuendo, and outright untruths.

3. You are a hate monger who viciously attacks those who disagree with you. Rather than stand and debate, you cut and run at every opportunity, much like the little boy that sticks his tongue out at an adult and quickly runs away.

4. Your usenet antics preceed (sic) you. Any prosepective (sic) employer who gets a hold of your usenet nonsense will dismiss your writings in quick order.

I must admit, however, I do like the "dancing" photo of you on display at one of those conservative message boards. It fits your writing style - always dancing around the issues.

You are indeed Scott, one big loser. So there you go, your hate mail for today.

(I altered the message by adding the numerous instances of "sic").


Now, remember the bit about this being sent via an anonymous re-mailing service? Look at number 3. How am I supposed to debate someone who e-mails me anonymously? Isn't that a cut and run? This person is either very stupid or very, very, very fucking stupid.

I know who this guy is, despite his use of an anonymous re-mailing service. He's a nut-case from the alt.radio.talk.dr-laura newsgroup who pretends he's this retired Army colonel living on a "five-figure" military pension. He goes by the name "Colonel Bill Kilgore." He also created a sockpuppet he calls "Blue Ridge Vets," who supposedly served on the same ship I served on (USS Blue Ridge, LCC-19), and follows me from message board to message board to post on things I've posted on my blog.

In fact, if I mentioned this thread on my blog, "Blue Ridge Vets" would show up in a matter of hours to cause trouble.
