CD purchases for July so far
I've bought:

Ashlee Simpson - Autobiography (B-. I moved up the grade a bit after finding a couple songs at the end not so bad. But that's the highest it will get. I like the CD, but Ashlee needs improvement. She's much better than Hilary Duff and Jennifer Love Hewitt IMO, though. I'd give Hilary and Jennifer's CDs a C-.)

Maria Mena - White Turns Blue (this will likely make my top 10 CDs of the year! No manufactured sincerity here at all. At least an A.)

Bad Religion - The Empire Strikes First (I love this CD (I give it A-) and want to check out their others. Any recommendations?)

What have you bought this July?

17. How is that Muse disc?
I've heard one song off that album, "Time is Running Out," and I really dig it. The rock station in my area doesn't play it, I travel out of town every day and I hear it on a station out of Toledo, Ohio a lot. I don't understand why it's not getting any air time in my city. It's a great song.

6. David Allan Coe
Long Haired Redneck.

Wore the 8-track out in high school, and had an online conversation about his lyrics on another board, so when I Googled them I ordered the CD.

15. Avenue Q Soundtrack.
Edited on Sat Jul-24-04 02:04 PM by rainbowgrrl24
I mean, even just to hear the words sung on a broadway stage "George Bush- is only for now." gives me good vibes.

"Audience:
May be inappropriate for 12 years of age and under. (Avenue Q does employ puppets, however it is not suitable for young children.)" -telecharge website

in June, I bought Greg Palast's The Best Democracy Money Can Buy: The Truth About Corporate Cons, Globalization and High-Finance Fraudsters on CD for my dad on CD for father's day. He has a VERY long commute to work each day... and would be more political if he had more time to read. He knows that * is bad, always has- sees his industry being decimated by the day, but doesn't have time to do anything but work, sleep, and occasionally get through more than 5 pages of the NY times. I think this gift was the most appreciated thing that I've ever gotten for him. :-)
