Consider making a campaign contribution to Jeanette Mott Oxford's campaign for 59th state District Rep.....if we don't support our own then who do we have to blame when we say our voices are not heard?
http://www.jmo4rep.org/She is the genuine article. She knows what it is to be a working person trying to make it in the US. She knows what it is not to have health insurance. She has spent a LIFETIME working and defending working Americans.
It doesn't matter the size of the contribution (does SIZE really matter?). Anything you can spare is appreciated.
I am not JMO but a friend who has worked on various issues with her.
From her website:
Failure is impossible if we work together.
To secure a better future and a better today for our children does not mean turning back the hands of time. It means moving full speed ahead into “good new days” that build upon what we’ve learned and envisioned.
With 20+ years as an advocate and organizer fighting poverty and racism, Jeanette Mott Oxford knows both the 59th district’s problems and potentials.
She knows the insecurities faced by low-wage workers. She’s listened to parents’ anxieties about their children’s schools. She’s witnessed the struggle of those denied civil rights and equal access to justice.
Jeanette Mott Oxford also knows what it takes to bring the 59th District into the “good new days.” It requires a legislative emphasis on neighborhood development and schools. It requires a solid stand for affordable childcare and healthcare. It requires a passion to lead no matter the consequences in order to break down inequalities based on race, sex, income, sexual orientation and religion.
From years of experience, Jeanette Mott Oxford knows what the 59th District needs and knows how to get the job done.
