Tell us one thing we still don't know about you
It can be positive, negative, or neutral.

I haven't said this about me before: I get swimmer's ear easily. I have some hearing loss from the swimming I did when I was younger. I wear ear plugs in the shower.

Now how about you? :hi:

4. I'm responsible for the Astley Christ photoshop!
Edited on Sat Jul-24-04 04:16 PM by eyesroll

There, I said it. I'm officially going to hell.
(I should add it wasn't my idea -- it stemmed from a thread on a related topic, and I was asked to put an image together, since I know how to use Photoshop and the person who asked me to, well, doesn't.)

And, on edit, I should also add that I wish it was my idea -- I'm good in the technical department with photo editing, but not so much on the creative side.

8. I am inexplicably drawn to the late 1930s-early 1940s...
I'm attracted to this time period, although it was long before my birth.

Around my desk/work area in our home office, I have portraits of FDR and Harry Truman framed with hand-signed letters; a 1941 Gil Elvgren pinup calendar; some framed Gil Elvgren pinup prints (these were the inspiration for much of the aircraft "nose art" of WWII); scale mohagany models of WWII and pre-WWII aircraft suspended from the ceiling; a WWII field radio; a vintage airfield clock; a vintage black dial telephone; a framed original one-sheet of Abbott and Costello's movie "Keep 'Em Flying" (1941).

I also have a WWII classified photo of my dad's Army Air Force Officer's Candidate School graduating Class of 1943 -- hand-signed by *every* member of the class.

My computer is the one thing that is not of this time period!

11. my right ankle is an unstable amalgam of titanium, linguine and glue
Four surgeries -- the fourth to clean out the infection that resulted from the third. Only because I am married to the most dedicated (and strong-stomached) woman on earth do I still have a right foot. Mrs. V. cleaned the wound and changed the bandage every four hours for weeks, then every six hours for weeks, etc. . . .

what appeared to be a white slave operation in Rome in 1984. A British journalist who now produces a weekly news programme was the person who told me that by my descriptions that it was most likely a white slave operation. Very scary stuff. No lie.
