When your dreams tell you you're watching too much news |
|
Dream #1: I'm sleeping on my mother's couch, because something has invaded my house. Well, at least I have my computer with me. The bad news is, it wakes me up by rebooting itself, and I'm presented with the message that I've been hit with a virus, and if I shut down or reboot again, it will destroy everything on my hard disk. A Powerpoint-like presentation begins, listing in detail the many folders and files it's already deleted.
Dream #2: Stuck in a sandstorm in the middle of Iraq. There are two forms of shelter to choose from: a small building nearby, or this temporary sand-shelter thing I can't even begin to describe, which is further away. There are two men, both in tunics, with me. I urge them to choose the building, but they choose this other thing, into which the three of us really don't fit. It's quite claustrophobic.
I tell you, if I dream about * tonight, I'm killing my television.

1. My hubbie had a dream last night that I and cats were in Yugoslavia..... |
|
Edited on Fri Aug-29-03 05:54 PM by KoKo01
and we were in a car on a road with soldiers and we were being fired on from both sides. Both my Siamese cats were in the car and we headed over a bridge to escape the fire.....and drove off the bridge into the water. My husband got out.....he waded back in to save me....managed to get car door open and got me out....dragged me onshore.....then went back to save the cats.......he realized that the water was only 4 feet deep....so he felt better....slogged his way back to the car and saw the cats...with their cheeks puffed out holding their breath waiting for him to rescue them.....he got into the car through window and grabbed them and pulled them onto the shore with me......and we were all Okay when the dream ended.
He told me this dream this morning........I had bad dreams all night about dentists who are corrupt and then early toward the morning some terrorist threat that I (personally in my dream) was running from (don't remember the details....just that it was terrorists).
I wonder how many other DU'ers are being affected by the Iraq coverage and are having sleepless nights. We've bought a store of "hot cocoa with marshmallows" to keep for those nights we need to get up from nightmares..and the milk with the seratonin (sp) and the marshmallows.....seens to do the trick after we walk around awhile at 3:30 a.m....and we eventually get back to sleep.
I want' to sue the "Squatters in the WH" for all this........I'm telling you I've aged ten years since these disgusting people have been squatting there.........Could I sue them for psychiatric bills, meds? I've not consulted any mental health professionals or sought meds for this......but I wonder now if I should have. I medicate with "wine with dinner" and sometimes it's too much wine.....which worries me.....
How do we cope??? You need alot of $$$'s to deal with the Psychiatrists and meds.........and if you want to go your own way...then it's GNS....herbs....or the time honored glasses of wine when it gets too much!
But, still the nighmares..........caused by these folks! :-(

3. Too revealing a window into the psyche, perhaps? |
|
Doesn't bother me -- I know my temporary insanity will end when the Neo-Thugs are out of power!
Then I can go back to those regular nightmares about housecats on the attack. (Oops, gave away a bit there!)
