If true, expanding into what?

Non Universe?

3. just 1 mile a day? I thought it'd be fastar than that.

They say the universe is indeed expanding. I think our entire universe could be part of another universe, and that other universe is a part of another universe, and so on endlessly.

Astronomer Milton Hubble discovered that all the galaxies are flying apart from each other as if from a big explosion. Einstein saw this in his equations before Hubble was out of diapers, but Einstein didn't believe it and ignored it. If he had told the world what he saw in his equations, well before Hubble, that would have been his masterstroke.

4. Non Sequiter

There is no outside. The universe is self contained and all there is. Space is not defined outside the universe.

That's like asking what happened before time began. There is no such thing as a before the existance of time since the concept of before requires the existance of time.

Your concepts are so classical.
