The Cubs are getting no-hit through 7. |
|
Turn on WGN.
Milton's given up no hits and only 1 walk after 7 innings.

Thou shalt not speak of a no-hitter/perfect game whilst in midst of baseball action.

13. I was brought up right |
|
My baseball-loving father always taught me to NEVER SPEAK OF THE NO-HITTER.
Thou shalt not speak its name!!!
He always pointed out the baseball analysts who obeyed the Almighty Jinx, and their creativity... "At the bottom of seven, we have NO HITS (long pause)... no runs, and no errors."

I actually thought about that before posting. I know a lot of people believe in these crazy supersticions.
Skip Caray said something on TBS a few years ago that made sense. A broadcaster would be doing a disservice by not mentioning the no-hitter. People would want to know if something historic was unfolding.
Anyways, I was hoping for Chicago to win. Philly needs to lose for Atlanta and Florida to stay in the chase.

15. Belated Final: Phillies 3, Cubs 2... |
|
... in 9 innings.
I'm always so torn between Philly and Cub love. At any rate, hate to see a No-Hitter broken up.
