1. Hi BlondieK. This weekend it was birthday party on Saturday...Graduation
party on Sunday, and no rest for the weary. Now there is laundry to do, a house to clean, a doctor's appointment, a visit to the fruit and deli market, the grocery store...and on and on! Have a great day!!!

Like last night when I talked to my son, who is heading out for his last semester at Mizzou. Some dream of the cap & gown, graduation parties, etc. The rest of us dream of the end of tuition bills. LOL.

spring breaked there once a couple of years ago. For a while we (oops, there isn't a we, just force of habit from the corporate world) For a while I thought he was majoring in spring break, but then the last couple of years he got a little more serious about it all. Discovered they still had a Deans honor roll, and the internet could be used for something other than video games.

Where DO you live? And when do you take your GED exam?

I live in East TN. And I'll be taking the exam whenever I can get a car (and the morning off) to take it.

23. East Tenn, the pretty part.
Kid is at school in Missouri. The Spring break and fall break things were a good way to avoid working and classroom responsiblities. He is not a Greek, just adoped some of my old hippie traits from days gone by I guess. LOL.

You sound like a bright and serious young lady. There are ways to work things out (before Shrub completely destroys the support system)I am on my third and last college student. This is my tenth year of wrestling with such things as tuition, filling the rice bowl, etc.
Have one teacher and one magazine writer (the sweetie daughter), and a beautiful daughter in law. Three GrandKats, life is good.

And yes, I do kind of like the young ones. Spent a lot of my many many years working with young people. Coaching sports, sub-teaching high schools, officiating sports, etc. It has been the most enjoyable part of life. Have yet to find a "bad kid", but there have been a lot of parents I would have like to given ten pounds of whopass.

33. Still think the General to be the best candidate
Probably the only one who could win.
Parents are just something we children tolorate until we don't have to anymore. LOL. But my parents had an element of strength and character that I could never duplicate. Old fashioned patriots, who did think, and would have continued to think this current crop of patriots to be jackasses.

35. Amen to that!
I think America really missed out on a great opportunity. :( It's sad really. But I don't think that we've seen the last of him. If (and hopefully when) Kerry is elected, I think he'll be a vital part of the administration (or at least that's what I'm telling myself will happen). He's the first candidate I've ever been able to volunteer for, and it's amazing knowing I possibly changed one vote. I don't think we're out of the woods yet, there's so much more to be done before Bush gets his pink slip. I just hope people don't forget that.

haha. LOVE that sentence! So very true! Hard to think that way once I'll be a parent though. That's one thing I've vowed - never to be like mine. And it's great that your's were so incredible. I see now where you get it from. :)

38. There are other campaigns
Senator Nelson is already focused on his 06 reelection campaign because "darling Katherine" is already running against him.

Congressman Jim Davis, Dem/Tampa is a likely candidate for Governor, and after 8 years of Jebbie we really need to do something right.

And then there is the BIG campaign. For the Gators to kick UT's Butt.

59. I give.
I won't speak ill of UT all football season. You have to agree not to berate NASCAR, DEI, or JoeGibbsRacing.

Besides, I honestly feel that with the qb and set of receivers that the Gators have, the "old ball coach" would score 50 points a game, but this "leadership" they have now won't know how to use them.

OK, time to hit the beach and waste away another day of "the good life". The sun is out. The Gulf water is 86 degrees. Caddy's has a new delivery of BBQ and BudLite. Now if there were only a nice looking rich widow or two......awwwwwwwwww the dreams we do have. hehe

It's a great day! :)

Flew in to Boston last night, have a few GLBT and Youth meetings to attend in the afternoon then I'm free for the day. I wish I could have stayed the entire week, but I have to get back home Wednesday for work (more budget meetings), But.. I leave for vacation this Saturday -- 7-day Cruise to the Caribbean.. hehe. I'll have to take pics for ya :)

When I get back from vacation, I have to get my college schedule set so I am not in a panic come late August. One more semester to go, then Law School. :P

So, anything good going on in your part of the country?

in about 4 weeks. Which will be a damn site better than the place I was staying the last few weeks - a town in the south of England.

The location of my job is very political, so I can see myself spending a lot of time in the other town, which is crap. I would rather live in one place or the other, not spending half my time in each. Grrr.

The weekend was fun, got laundry washed, went to one of my asian supermarkets and got some taro and dim sum foods. :9

Ran Sunday morning, upped the distance to 7 miles, took about 75 mins to travel. Helped mom get her new cell phone, then went to watch the Copa America final match at my new Mexican restaurant, which just started Sunday hours.

I'm on for a few split seconds late during the week, I may stay on longer Friday or Saturday nights. :hi:

triathlons are way too hard to train for, that is, if you have to work for a living. I do all of this to play soccer. The knee should be good for the fall season. I have my rec league team and I've been invited to play on a co-ed team.

I have to check my list to make sure I have you on it.

54. Well, sort of.
But it was more like my "dad" letting me down. My totalled car is still on my credit (long story - basically, the GAP insurance people fucked up and didn't finish out the claim. It'll be 14 days before they can process it, send it to Nissan, then get it off of my credit). So I was told I'd HAVE to have a co-signer. After hours of begging and pleading, "dad" aka, Mr. Sperm Donor agreed to co-sign then he backed out on me AFTER I was there signing paperwork. That's the story of my life with my "parents". :eyes:
