kerry threw out the first pitch, and got tons of free air time and favorabLe coverage from ESPN. he was high fiving after home runs, and signing autographs.

it was awesome. :D

6. what a bunch of poo!
I saw the game and of course there were boos- but the crowd was remarkably well behaved and supportive. And the ESPN commentators were super cool-- Kerry gave them a great interview.

8. It might just have been a case of mic placement but NPR seems to be
going from "unbiased" to fucking lame. I don't own a TV so, if it weren't for this place I would think that Kerry made a total ass of himself.

I was in the car with my fiance on the way to work and I daid "sounds like a really bad publicity stunt. I'll wait to get on DU and see what really happened".

Anybody else hear the NPR crap?

3. NPR used to be the only station I'd listen to
But they've done nothing but piss me off lately. After Kerry picked Edwards, NPR was spewing the bullshit about Kerry asking McCain first ALL WEEK LONG. Now I just listen to the ClearChannel classic rock station.

9. Sure sounded like boos to me and I'm both a Kerry supporter
and Red Sox fan.

As soon as I heard he was going to throw out the first pitch I cringed - baseball is Bush's sport, hockey is Kerry's. (p.s. I'd like to see Bush on skates but he wouldn't have the balls).

Sorry, I just didn't have confidence that he'd make a good throw and if you can't make a good throw, there's no point in doing it.

I've been to Fenway many many times, the fans boo their own players for god's sake (not me) - one of the least attractive features of Sox fans.

4. I agree, Crowd was supportive
but every report I have seen - on ESPN, Globe, NESN all speak to the booing.

What most say is that the boos were about Kerry getting between them (the crowd) and the game.

What was nice is that Kerry threw to a National Guardsman, who then sat with Kerry )with families) to watch the game.

They showed Kerry high fiving one of the red sox players who just hit a home run. Very cool.

12. My brother-in-law was at the game and it was mostly cheers
I would expect a few boos. Sox tickets are the most expensive in baseball, and seasons tickets are monopolized by large corporations.
