3. ONe of these years I'll get to a democratic convention |
|
Best I can say is I'll been at 2 republican conventions :eyes:
I was really hoping that Philly would have gotten the Democratic convention back in 2000, but the repukes grabbed us first. Not that we minded - they brought tons of money into our city and we still went for Gore in 2000. I went to a few Al Gore visibility events in the city. But I was also suppose to attend a party being held by the company I was working for (a major pharmaceutical). I was the computer support person for their Lobbying division and they were having a major to-do. I was suppose to attend to help handle the computer setup for the event and I was really trying to find a way to get out of it. Unfortunately my grandfather had passed away about 2 days before the convention and that allowed me to get out of the event (I recruited a co-worker who was a major repuke supporter to take my place - I figured he would appreciate it more than me).
And of course I'll be at the RNC convention this year.

succinct response I've yet to hear to the "flip flop" meme. . .
It went something like this. . .
"Politicians who can't flip can only flop."
thought it was great.
