Why does Chris Matthews have two shows on television?
Matthews hosts "Hardball", of course. And then he also hosts "The Chris Matthews Show" , on Sunday mornings, which is just like...."Hardball".

I gotta tell you...Chris Matthews is not that scintillating a personality, frankly, to have two virtually identical shows on television.

This isn't an earth shattering question, I know, but it strikes me as a somewhat unusual circumstance.

Terry

4. A foil to Fox
Matthews was hired because of his conservative viewpoints and his in-your-face interviews that are similar to Bill O'Reilly. Along the way, someone at MSNBC started taking him seriously and, thus, he got more airtime.

I note that this has not exactly improvedMSNBC's ratings. They remain in the cellar.

5. Half the ratings that Matthews gets....
..is from folks like us who watch his shows to find out what stupid things he says. Probably the same is true for Hannity, O'Reilly, et.al.

That's why I can't be bothered to watch any of those shows. I have better things to do - like clean out my cat's litter box or something :eyes:

9. I will say one nice thing about him.
He isn't Scarborough or O'Reilly. But he still sucks.
