Company Selling Candy Wrapped In Bible Verses ("Scripture Candy")

<snip>

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- A candy company in Birmingham is trying to spread the Gospel -- one piece of candy at a time.

Since 1997, when Scripture Candy began selling sweets wrapped in Bible verses, sales have grown to more than $2 million a year in the United States and 13 foreign countries.

But Scripture Candy founder Brian Adkins said his main goal is to "help lead people to Christ."

He said the company often receives e-mails from people who said that a Bible verse on their candy wrapper helped them get through a tough time.

5. Why wouldn't it be legal?
Companies are free to make such items. They'll probably sell-Sunday School teachers will give them out as treats. Fundies will hand them out on Halloween. At least it will have candy in it, unlike a Jack Chick tract.

6. Gee, I wonder if they have this little bit of wisdom......
"If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. " -- Luke 14:26

You don't hate your Mother, Father, Wife and Children?

You Piece of Shit, You're going straight to hell! :)

7. I saw something similar at a Christian bookstore some years ago
Testa-mints.
Candy/breath mints in Bible verses. So of course we bought some.
:puke:

It's kind of like Contemporary Christian music -- is it written somewhere that popular things like music and candy have to utterly suck from an aesthetic standpoint if they're praising God in the process?
