The Bitch Factor - A Fuzz rant in text form (parental advisory)
I frequent several message boards, contribute occasionally, but mostly read. The latest selective moral outrage from the right is Teresa Heinz Kerry’s “shove it’ comment to a ‘reporter’ with whom she apparently disagreed with the way they portrayed her husband and herself.

This apparently is over the line. “Major league asshole”, “Go fuck yourself” on the senate floor, and “They've lost their fucking minds" to Talk magazine, however, are not, even if they are said by the actual candidates.

The most disturbing part of the whole tone of the posts is the fact that they seem to center around the Kerry’s relationship. Some calling him a gigolo, her a bitch and speculating on their personal lives, etc. It’s like Bill & Hillary all over again.

It’s just so, well juvenile. I don’t speculate about the sex lives of the politicians with whom I disagree.

For example, you wouldn’t hear me say that George W. probably likes to play rodeo by putting on a cowboy hat, mounting Laura from behind, grabbing her hair, calling her Condi and seeing if he can stay on for 8 seconds. Nope, not from me.

You also won’t hear it from me that Cheney probably, twice a year, pops a couple Viagra, is hooked up to a heart monitor while Lynn lubes him up with KY and uses 2 fingers to give him a hand job real slowly while 3 doctors watch the monitor in an adjoining room. And when Cheney is wheeled out by the doctors for his checkup afterward, he leaves an endorsed $50 dividend check on the nightstand.

Another thing not from me is how Ashcroft probably says grace right before his 12 second missionary position foray and that Mrs. Ashcroft thinks an orgasm is something Olympic rowers get when they are low on potassium.

See how juvenile? I know it can be fun, but this isn’t high school for crying out loud.

We’re constantly reminded that we are at war and who do you trust. Well, I think I trust people who aren’t constantly thinking about wee-wees and what other people are doing with theirs.

1. You left out an important element of the Bush "rodeo" scenario...
"For example, you wouldn’t hear me say that George W. probably likes to play rodeo by putting on a cowboy hat, mounting Laura from behind, grabbing her hair, calling her Condi and seeing if he can stay on for 8 seconds. Nope, not from me."

I believe it's also necessary for him to say "Hey! Your sister does it better."...

2. This is the problem with being "decent."
The moment you start being decent, and state that you're being decent, you give your opponent the perfect chance to subvert you - either directly or through his "left hand" surrogates.

It wasn't George Bush who said anything nasty about Gore. It was all those little weasels working for him, who now happen to have high office in his administration, while a new generation of weasels take over.

As Fuzz says, this isn't high school. This is war. And not the war in Hollywood, where Ronald Reagan appears to lose his legs and moans, "Where's the rest of me?" This is real war, where real obscene language is being used when your legs are blown out from under you.

That's why Al Gore lost. When the Republicans crippled him (not surgically removing his legs, but slowly scooping them off with a blunt spoon) he gritted his teeth and said "Where's the rest of me?" He thought he was acting presidential. Instead he was acting like a bad B-movie actor like...Ronald Reagan.

I say, let the obscenities fly. The only difference should be, we should not throw them like Cheney, at anyone that happens to be in his way. We should use them against the things that outrage us. And if we use them a lot...we then explain that they're used because there's so much to be outraged about.

...I want a Democrat to call a Republican a DUMBASS.

Right there on TV.

Badly.

Imagine the results if only Gore hadn't tried to be "gentlemanly" towards * during the 2000 campaign.

"That's fuzzy math".

"You dumbass".

See what I mean.

5. I just read an article today
Edited on Mon Jul-26-04 05:55 PM by SarahBelle
It was in US News and World Reports while at the allergist's office for my daughter. It was about Cheney is his use of expletives. It also talked about *Bush and his casual use of cursing as well. It pointed out though that he "never did it in front of his wife" though.
That's the difference. IMHO, with Democrats, wives/women are treated as equals (well most of them anyway, but that's another story) and the "old boy's club" isn't quite as prevalent as with Republicans.
