Dream Theater's "Take The Time" really seizes the current moment
"Just let me catch my breath...
I've heard the promises
I've seen the mistakes
I've had my fair share of tough breaks
I need a new voice, a new law, a new way
Take the time, reevaluate
It's time to pick up the pieces,
Go back to square one

::everybody now:: I THINK IT'S TIME FOR A CHANNNNNNNNNNGE!"

3. You know I really don't know what they are but

Truthfully I don't care, they really never throw any political views into any of their songs, the only social statements they have seemed to have thrown out in their music have been in opposition to child abuse and suicide (you know stuff that any normal person would be against)

On "The Great Debate" Petrucci seemed to write this song which showed both sides of the argument (cleverly done I thought) but never fully takes a stance.

I'm actually fine with artists that don't really push any political views and just focus on the music and use mythology (DT seems to use alot of this) ect for inspiration.

Given the fact that they have paid tribute to and even toured with some pretty outspoken liberal bands though shows me doubt that they're neo-cons.

On their latest album they seem to take a harsh stance against using organized religion in order to fulfill one's greedy and deadly ambitions.
