Time to go Awwwwwww... Animal pictures

Batting champ: Congratulations to Buddy, a cocker spaniel owned by Warren and Barbara Carlson of Laketon Township, Mich. Guinness accepted his world record for longest doggie eyelash -- 4.7 inches.

Who ya gonna call? Goat boosters! Cars make good stepladders for leaf munchers in the Belgrade, Serbia, suburbs.

She ain't just whistlin' Dixie: Woodstock, Ga., High School marching band flutist Stephanie Nutt can carry a tune and a sparrow at the same time.

Two-armed bandits: Four orphaned raccoons are handful for 11-year-old Jacob Heider in Oconto, Wis. Jacob's father helps raise and rehabilitate animals for the local Wildlife Sanctuary so they can be released back into the wild.

A few laps around the pool: Four out of five cats in Macedon, N.Y., prefer bird-flavored water.

3. If you've followed
my travails here in the lounge, you'll see that I love 'em, too. But I have ONE who keeps coming in my house and flips me off when I try to chase him out.

I have a long, complicated relationship with raccoons.

5. My neighbors had one
who would use their cat door every night. He would come in, climb the stairs, walk through the living room right in front of them watching TV, go into the kitchen and eat cat food. Then he would clean up and go back outside. He did this every night without fail while the others and a skunk would be sitting right outside the door eating the cat food put there every night for them. They moved. Our new neighbor doesn't even talk to us so you know what happened to the cat door. Well, the racoon spent the winter in my garage. I would let him out every morning but when it was cold he would come in for the nights. He drove my dogs insane!

6. yeah
this guy comes in through the cat door. I even bought a special locking one that requires a magnet, but he's learned to pull it open. My cats get along with him, so I sorta treat him as just another pet. He doesn't cause any trouble... just eats and leaves.

9. Wish I had a camera with me last night
Had to drive through a herd of 150 bison - twice.

Most were faintly amused - at least three looked horny so I kept moving.

10. There was a raccoon war in a tree near my house
one evening I step out of my house and hear the most godawful sound I have ever heard. When my eyes adjusted to the light I noticed what had to be 50 raccoons in a tree across the street...and they were screaming at each other. It was bizarre...especially since I don't even see that many raccoons around here most of the time.
